A day in the market like today is when Muddy’s Darkside Watches 8/18 actually start to pan out as nice shorts on green to red. Remember many times before he and I have mentioned in a market like the past 2-3 months the darkside list is best used for green holds or red to green plays vs. shorts. BUT if we are going to start to drop here it’s going to come into play more so on the short side. As you know though, we could be in for a surprise and see it ramp right back up.. but we’ll see – that’s why we take it one day at a time and don’t try to forecast it.

Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group Inc. (DTG) and Diedrich Coffee Inc. (DDRX) started to finally break down I think most of these bounces will be good shorts as the market begins to fall again. Lots of shorts are starting to come into play even though most of the plays today were longs.

Unfortunately charts had an issue this morning on my software so I started off slow the first half hour but then made up for it on HURN and CRY. Should have some great plays through the remainder of the week.

Huron Consulting Group Inc. (HURN) big alert in chat today, got $1.01/share awesome gainer. Many played it so congrats if you were one of them! I played it again after hours for about 40 cents per share but it kept going straight into the 8pm after hours trading close. This should be an AWESOME play tomorrow again possible great squeeze since the huge drop at the beginning on the month. Once it rocks, watch for the flip as well to the short side.

CryoLife Inc. (CRY) yet another great play ripping towards $7 today was an awesome gain for us. Probably the second best play second to HURN for me. Should be in play yet again tomorrow both long and short – we’ll see how it opens up and go from there. If it fails at $7.50 may be a potential short but if it opens green and holds might have another nice push towards $8s

Mesa Air Group Inc. (MESA) one heck of a mover, volume has be consistant watch for a bit of consolidation around .25s and later on this week this may be in play again. Has been a money maker in chat.

Nanometrics Inc. (NANO) looking for a long play on green hold tomorrow

Pinnacle Airlines Corp. (PNCL) looking for a long hold if $5.50 holds

IDCC as always I watch the biggest droppers hopefully it drops a bit more tomorrow and then has a nice rebound (dead cat bounce). That’s all I’m interested in.. not going to hold it over.. not going to marry it.. looking for the first rebound and then taking it off.

Gladstone Capital Corporation (GLAD) potential bounce watch for it to blow out $7.50s and looking for a a bounce back through $7.50 towards $8 before volume dies the next few days and slowly drops off

First like I said in last nights scan our swing really paying out well now closed near highs yet AGAIN (still in from 3.17-3.19s partial position left)! Congrats everyone on this! Also the WAVE we bought yesterday at .48-.50 (I had 20,000 shares over night) well… you know how that went the first 30 minutes of the trading day hitting a high of nearly .62! Can’t believe the plays that have been rocking day in and day out!

CBK – last night I said “CBK $6.50 nice support watching this one tomorrow may get a spike towards $7+ watch for green hold or if it opens lower watch for red/green and volume” and it did just that by holding green and continued towards $7.. if it test tomorrow should have a power house day

MESA hugeeeeeeeeeeeeee alert today in chat, read about it here. As you know .. in at .10 and .102.. sold some on the fist pop, locked more in at .17-.18 after hours and it closed at .20 – absolutely awesome trade today, congrats all!

MHLD – real nice move off $6s this may still have more watch for $7 test and hold and further squeeze to the upside

ZEP $14 top past few months if it breaks and holds we’ll have a $2/share mover coming up

MENT played this one long today on the $6 break.. sold out 6.20 range.. shorted towards close but covered for .05 loss.. watch for gap/test over $6.50 and possible short back down after a spike or sideways price action and fade

LIOX from scan the past few nights “picked it off 1.78-1.80s for a decent trade today will continue to trade it on dips towards the $2 break” today we had the $2 break and spike but should base around $2 now and head higher potentially.. swinging a little

COYN holding this one accumulated bid side through the 2nd half of the day – possible gap and continuation

DENN broke triple top today at $2.25 nice play in chat trades well nearly 2.5 million volume – keep an eye as long as $2.25 holds watch for $2.50 test and things to speed up

FIG broke previous highs, $3.50 important area I’m interested in as long as it holds – if it doesn’t this is more than likely a good short for 7-10% downside but take profits as it’ll prob form a higher base and you’ll find it right back up to $3.50

MCRI gapped up today, hoping continuation through the day tomorrow and I’ll watch for an afternoon fade $9 break is what I’m watching

RUTH today great trade many in chat in with me at $1.85, and took a bunch off on the first spike to $2.10 nearly 10 minutes after entry which was great, held the second half and sold near EOD. Keep an eye for further continuation tomorrow.

FAX keep an eye for volume and $5 test – we had good luck with charts like this (STSI last week and JDSU) play the momentum if there is vol and a pop, be sure to take some off incase it wants to re-test $5

CNB great move nailed it in chat today some long some short provided a good trade both ways, watching for continuation tomorrow and more volatility

MESA we’ll see if it has continuation over .50, my thought is it probably opens above 50 cents and selling off back under .45

PRFT  nice bottom reversal today keep an eye for continuation over $4 and watch for the afternoon fade

TSRA one of the biggest losers today, lots of volume keep an eye for weakness and bottoming action tomorrow for a potential play back over $10 – may want to test the $8 range first – let the bottom form before catching the falling knife

HZO keep an eye for the move over $3 higher lows and a triple/quad top, if it breaks through $3 and change very easily can move towards $4 level

CTCM keep an eye for bottom reversal tomorrow – this may be a good long with a stop around $3.75

FTBK watching this one for bottoming action and any signs of reversal
