Why I Would Never Buy (BSGC) and Short It if I Could

Monday, July 7th, 2008

Besides the fact Lebed is pumping the crap out of it, it’s a complete copy of Meebo!

If you are interested in investing in a company that copies the layouts of other websites, changes a thing or two and calls it their own, than this company is for you! Also, if you like a company who provides meaningless technologies such as “Find It All” found HERE again, that probably makes money off ads and lead generation, than.. again this company is for you.

IF not though, here’s the “story” and here’s how its really NOTHING that special…

Sure its a great sympathy play to Meebo which happens to be ranked 355 on alexa.com as of today and recently closed $25M in financing! But seriously, take a look at the two websites side by side.
Now… I have seen a lot of things, I’m not saying this is the worst copyright infringement but…. you be the judge and tell me just how “breakthrough” is BigString as Lebed exclaims?

Bigstring

Meebo

subject Lebed.biz Alert - Here is my HUGE announcement!
mailed-by icpbounce.com

He states:

What exactly goes Bigstring IM do? The number one problem with IMs today is the security of your information. Every normal IM you send can be saved, printed, copied, pasted, captured by screen shot and more… and that information can then be stored forever.

Whether it be for business or personal use… you need to be careful about everything you say in IMs because you risk the release of that information to the outside world.

With Bigstring IM… everything you send whether it be text or picture… will self-destruct from the other persons screen after a predetermined period of time… whether it be 5 seconds or 15 minutes.

You can’t copy and paste. You can’t save or print. You can’t make a screen shot. No records are kept on any servers.

So say you’re a parent and you’re concerned about your kids safety online and you’d like to monitor the places they go, the things they say or people whom contact them (such as internet predators) should you be worried that your kids have access to a program like this? Not at all, the technology isn’t really that “robust” and in fact, nothing really anymore secure than any other IM program. Fact is the text has to pass through a port on the computer somewhere and if you use a simple Keystroke logger, lets say KeyLogger Pro, or KeyLogger HRD from ExploreAnywhere and it records all the information? So is there really a market for this stuff? Or is it just another good sympathy story.

Oh and self distructing anywhere from 5 seconds to every 15 minutes, sure I’ll just set the screen shot capture on SpyBuddy (another product from ExploreAnywhere) to every 4 seconds, walla, BigString defeated.

In a Press HERE they claim - Projected Revenues of at least $250,000 Per Year

So why is the valuation “so low”?

subject Lebed.biz Alert - BSGC’s valuation is so low right now!
mailed-by icpbounce.com

For a Web 2.0 company… users are more important than revenues. Meebo is being valued at $200 million despite having generated aggregate revenues of only around $1 million since launching.

At a valuation right now under $10 million, I believe BSGC’s upside potential far outweighs the downside risk! You must research BSGC immediately before the word spreads!

Lebed said it himself, Meebo has only had $1 million revenues since launching, so why do they feel the market size is so large for this software?Just my opinion as always! But when something this blatantly stupid comes into my mailbox I’d be stupid not to comment on it! Sure it may have momentum from the combined Lebed e-mails and timely press releases but again, lets see if this is really that good of a deal down here, in a few days, a month or a year.

BSGC’s Bigstring email service already has over 300,000 registered users. At a valuation of just $50 per user… I believe BSGC’s email service alone could potentially be worth around $15 million or $0.30 per share.

I’ll stick with Gmail.. thanks!
