Muddy has BEEN ON FIRE with these cheap stocks lately all originating from the .01 range, wait until you see the recap he nailed another 800% call today not to mention NVAX’s move on volume/HOD scan before the news hit

Well swings have been working our remarkably well. As you know I am not a swing trader and just do it on the side of my regular trading.. and its been such a hot 3 months that by just swinging I turned my 11k acct into 40k+ now since the last screen shots I took of it were before the DCGN gap Monday morning. I sold 1/2 ATSI today just to lock in $500 bucks, I had 10,000 shares. $3.33 is the 52 week high hoping we test that out of the gate tomorrow.

ATSI $3.33 is the 52 week high when I sold on offer they ate it right away, definitely some buying in this one nice on the red/green move today as well noted in chat

CBK $6.50 nice support watching this one tomorrow may get a spike towards $7+ watch for green hold or if it opens lower watch for red/green and volume

LYTS watch for gap hold $5.50 test/break/hold and more towards $6

WAVE grabbed some again near close.. vol started coming and testing .50s.. we’ve nailed it already 4 times this year, literally every spike you see on that chart is a day we traded it, not looking for as large a move but just playing it for 10-15% move again

CNXT holding this one over night awesome alert today I sold 3/5’s before the close and

CNTY watch for $3 break/hold with volume may have some nice upside, boring otherwise

KIRX short this one the last 30-45 minutes and covered after hours, decent short on watch for $12 area.. make or break short bias

Devil Gets His Due…

My man Bernie Madoff is getting off easy. The scam artist who made Ponzi Scheme a household term, and became the face of greed and corruption on Wall Street, was sentenced to 150 years at Club Fed today. There was never much chance that Bernie Madoff would get anything other than life. And in fact he got life and then some, since he’s only expected to live another 13 years. Madoff pleaded for a 12 year sentence earlier last week. Its truly a shame, as his sentence, while gratifying, doesn’t change the fact that the lives of countless have been changed forever due to his actions.

captphoto_1236716139293-5-01.jpg image by tma-RahshahMadoff appeared today before U.S. District Judge Denny Chin in New York for the first time since his March 12 guilty plea in an epic swindle that may have reached $65 billion in both real and phantom investments.

“I don’t ask for any forgiveness,” said Madoff, 71, wearing a single-breasted charcoal gray suit and navy blue tie as he stood before the judge. The money manager said he deceived his brothers, his two sons and his wife, none of whom was in the courtroom. The audience burst into applause as Chin imposed the maximum sentence. Madoff was then led off by U.S. marshals.

The judge cited Madoff’s failure to identify accomplices, which has made it harder for prosecutors to build cases against others. The receiver of his firm, Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC, has also said Madoff hasn’t substantially helped him, complicating efforts to locate assets.

“I made a terrible mistake,” Madoff said.

His facade shattered on Dec. 11, when he confessed to authorities that Madoff Securities was “one big lie.” Under immense pressure from a rush of investor redemptions, he admitted he used money from new investors to pay old ones. Regulators later said his investment advisory business hadn’t made a trade in at least 13 years.

Defense lawyer Ira Sorkin told the court that his client is a “deeply flawed human being.” Wow, I hope dear Bernie didn’t pay $1,000 for glittering remarks of the obvious like that!

Adios Q2, End on a Good Note!

Energy and commodities led the market higher to start a holiday shortened week on Wall Street. Crude hit an 8 month high, rising $2.33 to settle at $71.49 a barrel on the NYMEX on a host of geopolitical issues; China said it would boost oil reserves and Nigerian militants partly shut down an offshore oil platform.

With a lack of news on the economic side to direct trading, the Dow Jones industrial average advanced 90.99, or 1.1 %, to 8,529.38. The S&P 500 index gained 8.33, or 0.9 %, to 927.23, while the Nasdaq composite index rose 5.84, or 0.3 %, to 1,844.06.

Despite the move upwards in equities, bond prices rose as well, sending the yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note to 3.48% from 3.53% late Friday.

Morning Outlook

After losses yesterday, Japan reversed its fortune and followed Wall Street higher overnight. The Nikkei 225 rose 174.97 points, or 1.8 %, to 9,958.44 despite seeing its unemployment rate tick up to a 5 and a half year high; the unemployment rate jumped to 5.2 % from 5 % in April as the number of jobless rose to nearly 3.5 million. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng gave up early gains to close down 149.78, or 0.8 %, at 18,378.73.

In Europe, stocks found themselves mixed in late morning trading. The FTSE 100 index of leading British shares was down 9.19 points, or 0.2 %, at 4,284.84 while France’s CAC-40 fell 4.31 points, or 0.1 %, at 3,189.37. Germany’s DAX was 4.64 points, or 0.1 %, higher at 4,889.73.

Expect some volatility in the market today as we put a lid on the 2nd quarter of 2009, period where a lot of investment managers alter and rebalance portfolios. Traders will also get a reading for June’s consumer confidence. The market is waiting for something to come out and say that an economic recovery will look like growth, not a sideways lost years period. In premarket action, futures in the U.S. pointed moderately higher as Dow Jones industrial average futures rose 20, or 0.2 %, to 8,478. Standard & Poor’s 500 index futures gained 3.10, or 0.3 %, to 924.30, and Nasdaq 100 index futures advanced 4, or 0.3 %, to 1,485.50.

Economic Calendar

10:00 AM
Consumer Confidence: A survey of consumer attitudes on present economic conditions and expectations of future conditions for the month of June. The consensus reading for June is 57, down from last month’s reading of 54.9. However, consumers don’t seem to want to spend, as indicated with personal savings rising to a 15 year high.

10:00 AM
State Street Investor Confidence Index: Measures confidence by looking at actual levels of risk in investment portfolios. The figure indicates, for a given set of fundamentals, whether or not investors are bullish or bearish on assets with different risk levels.

Great way to start the morning waking up with DCGN which is the benefit to scaling out on a swing. Currently I’m holding AKRX and ATSI for swings.

EXAS nice breakout starting to speed up… lower volume but approaching $3 if it breaks and hold may get some lift towards the mid $3s .. if it jumps and fails to hold may be a decent short like BIOS was today off highs

ARTX volume today, watch for continuation tomorrow on the $1.75 test/break/hold

STAA great alert by ched today in chat , I went in on his alert at 2.17 area.. sold half 2.24 and the rest at the close, more than likely in play again tomorrow keeping it on watch

CLWR lotta alerts in chat today on it but I never pulled it up… big mistake.. what a move on the $5 break – hoping for continuation towards $6 and a fade off it for the short

PACR I alerted today 1.98s where I entered got a great pop through the $2.10s.. held all day.. looking for more tomorrow

LIOX from scan lsat night.. picked it off 1.78-1.80s for a decent trade today will continue to trade it on dips towards the $2 break

KIRX $12 break/hold may have further upside I’ll probably look for the short off spikes… but not to hold.. just scalp mode

WCBO was a nice trade for the $2 break today, will continue to monitor for more upside if $2 holds

I Really Could Get Used to This 60% a Day….

After selling out of 2/3’s of the 25k shares I had accumulated at .30 to .31 cost average on Friday at prices .40 to .4997 (after hours) 50 to 66.7% gains today we were welcomed at 8am with yet another and 60-80% moves today alone. I sold my remaining shares. Amazing gains!

If you hadn’t been paying attention check out the latest calls on NPWS, MDTL, WAVE and DCGN

This is a great market to be a trader, as most of you know I sent out a newsletter yesterday showing just my swing account which is nearly 400% gains in the past month alone from 11k. That’s just a swing account only placed 1-2 maybe 3 trades a day if that. This is not a market to miss and if you are not a member of the chat room you’re really missing out

Wall Street Looks to “Transform” Recent Losses

Despite a rise in consumer confidence to its highest level since February of last year, stocks fell Friday as the market suffered its 2nd consecutive weekly loss. Investors continue to question what an economic recovery will look like, as personal savings rose to 16 year highs. For the last trading day of the week, the Dow Jones industrial average fell 34.01, or 0.4%, to 8,438.39, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index fell 1.36, or 0.2%, to 918.90. The tech heavy Nasdaq composite continued to be the best performing index of the year, rising 8.68, or 0.5%, to 1,838.22.

For the week, the Dow Jones industrial average fell 1.2 %; the Standard & Poor’s 500 index slipped 0.3 %; and the Nasdaq composite index rose 0.6 %.

Morning Outlook

Markets trended downwards overnight in Asia as Japan’s Nikkei 225 index slid 93.92 points, or 1 %, to 9,783.47. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index declined 71.75 points, or 0.4 %, to 18,528.51.

Stocks rose in Europe following positive data from the euro zone. Economic Sentiment comprised of the 16 nations which use the currency rose by 3.1 points to 73.3 in June, well above the 71 reading expected in the markets. The FTSE 100 index of leading British shares was up 15.01 points, or 0.4 %, at 4,256.02. Germany’s DAX index was 39.57 points, or 0.8 %, higher at 4,816.04 while France’s CAC-40 rose 13.19 points, or 0.4 %, to 3,142.92.

In a holiday shortened trading week, Wall Street looks to regain the momentum that had powered the major indices through the spring. Before the opening bell, Dow Jones industrial average futures are up 30, or 0.4 %, to 8,403. Standard & Poor’s 500 index futures advanced 3.80, or 0.4 %, to 917.70, and Nasdaq 100 index futures gained 5.50, or 0.4 %, to 1,482.25.

Currencies and Commodities

The dollar rose against the yen, rising 0.2679% in the foreign exchange market to 95.44 yen. European currencies were mixed against the greenback. The euro fell 0.0747% to $1.4046 while the pound appreciated 0.0741% to $1.6538. Gold gained $1.50 to $942.50 an ounce, while silver depreciated 0.36% at $14.11. Light, sweet crude for August delivery rose 47 cents to $69.63 a barrel on the NYMEX; a 0.68% gain

Economic Calendar

There is little corporate or economic data to steer trading today, however the markets will receive a host of reports before the Independence Day holiday as we approach month and quarter end.

AAPH nice looking OTCBB, .50 break big.. lighter vol but if .55s holds should start to pick up volume and we’ll see an upside move

ACET broke $7 big break.. watch for green hold and continued upside move this may be a trend reversal

LIOX really like this one nearing a $2 break with volume there may be a very nice upside move if it snaps check out the 6 month chart below as well you’ll see why I like it

LCAV may have another day or two as it test towards $5+

NAVR $1.50 break is what I’m looking for with continued volume may turn into a quick spiker

OFI $6 break/hold – very nice chart slow and steady starting to pick up some upside speed

AFSI $12 big test if it breaks and holds this is breaking a double or triple top… may have steady move towards $13 in the next few days – otherwise $12 may act as resistance

ATSG $2.50 break with vol great set up as well – may take a few days if it doesn’t happen tomorrow but keep it on watc

BIOS from last week many times slow and steady expected the upside to pick up and test $6 shortly and here we are… nearing $6

A Real Economic Driver, or a Victory for the Earthy Crunchy?

What is the Legislation?

The House Friday passed sweeping legislation that would place the first national limits on the emission of greenhouse gases by big producers like factories and oil refineries. The American Clean Energy and Security Act calls for the U.S. to reduce its greenhouse-gas emissions by 17% from 2005 levels by 2020, and by 83% by 2050.

The legislation essentially creates a cap and trade system, where business’ could buy and sell excess emissions of fossil fuels. Under the system, major sources of those gases — including factories and power plants — would need to obtain permits for their emissions or buy “offsets” to cover them. The number of permits would fall every year, where most emitters would initially get free permits, but in later years would buy them at auction.

Economic Impact

Supporters of the legislation say it would stimulate the economy by creating “green” jobs, encourage investment in alternative sources of power and help wean the nation off its dependence on foreign oil. Some see it as a moral responsibility fro the health of the planet, while it can be also viewed as a national security issue to not be held hostage by hostile governments that supply the world’s oil. Opponents, however, argue that the bill would place a new tax on energy that would stunt economic growth, raise gas and electricity costs and do little to affect climate change.

The nation definitely needs new sources of industry, where jobs are created and kept in the states. This is definitely the economy of the future. But to get to that point is always a struggle. Initial costs will be high, to force change in consumption patterns, American’s will see an increase in price for these fossil fuels as businesses are charged more, thus passing the costs along. These measures could significantly increase the cost of living and in turn, stunt economic growth.

When is the Right Time?

That question is the key. This nation is at a cross roads, where we have been so successful with our industries and services, driving the United States to the top of the economic mountain. But there comes a time where innovation is needed, where the past is just that. Think of a sports team, a successful franchise that has gone as far as it can as its presently constituted, it is hard to rally the fan base behind you as you take measures to plan for the future which may cause short term pains.

This is just one of the many plays that I’ll recap this weekend/week … not to mention Muddy’s NPWS alert mannnny times at .012 and the next day and again and again ……. even buying off the solid intraday chart where one of our members alerted at .07 nearly doubled to .11!

Weds and Thurs were decent.. but much SLOWER compared to the past 3 weeks as to how hot its been in chat … well … Today at 1:00PM was NOT a market to miss

Congrats to Derf in chat catching ZN on the $10 break

Man oh man another killer day. Last week was WAVE .. This week killed it on LEE and DCGN. The swing alerts have been KILLING it, I sold off most ELGX today check out the move AND volume, in 2 days ago at 3.12 and 3.15s …

LEE I bought .53 and .55 sold .69 and .71 .. WAVE as you know I did this post last week actually hit MORE highs clearing .70s. They are great plays off the bottoms but its a must to take profits into the momentum.

Well, here’s DCGN below …

DCGN hit .50 after hours and I sold a few more, I still have just under 10,000 shares left with a .30 average I sold 15,000 shares today from my swing at .30 which I mentioned HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE.
