Why Proteonomix, Inc. (PROT.PK) Makes Me go Hmmmmph!

Came across PROT tonight doing scans and couldn’t help but laugh at their website and whether or not anyone will really attract any legitimate investors or just sucker in sheep to buy their story without doing proper due diligence. Sure, I’ll be the first to admit I didn’t take my due diligence much past the front page of the website or the stock chart but clearly.. that was enough. PROT is currently trading at $12.50 a share today December 29, 2008. Below is an exact quote from the website (and I actually took a screen shot of it just in case it changes) so hopefully if some poor old investor hears about the company and decides to google it they’ll come across this page and think twice. What do you think? I’m by no means an English major but I’ve bolded my minor grammar corrections and I’m sure you can find even more.

I don’t have an interactive broker account but man oh man does this make me wish I did, and how I wish this gives Michael Goode enough of a head start to make a nice write up like he did on MXFD.

Proteonomix has been engaged in the research and development phase for secveral years. Our efforts with some of the worlds leading researcghers and univerasities as our partners has resulted in numerous patents and a large catalog of intellectual property as it applies to biotech.

We expect to introduce our new cosmetic line of antiaging products. Through our research we have developed a proprietary product, SECRETED MATRIX ™ derived from our research involving various specialized cell lines. This product is novel and revolutionary in the field. Early indications serve great promise as a new aproach to antaging and damaged skin.

The company is now entering a new phase of commercializing its portfolio into products both for the consumer and the biotech community.Proteonomix’s efforts in researching stem cell growth has led to a new media platform. This media enables, for the first time, excelerated cell growth with no animal contaminants. It is anticipated that the commercialization of this product will be eagerly and well

recieved by the biotech community. Your company expects to commercialize this product during the fourth quarter of 2008.

Proteonomix plans to introduce this product in the third quarter of 2008.

Your company continues to apply its core assets in the field of diabetes and other disease entities. We are currently in negotiations to joint venture our patents and intellectual properties with government and university centers.

The company has recently changed names from NHGI.PK to PROT.PK as you can see HERE or National Stem Cell Holdings, Inc. Changes Its Trading Symbol From “NHGI” to “PROTD,” Changes Name to Proteonomix, Inc. and Announces a 10 to 1 Reverse Stock SplitMonday August 25, 12:30 pm ET found HERE.

I have no position nor plan on it, just found it extremely amusing that a company we are supposed to take “seriously” has that many issues on the front page of their website. Who knows.. it could manipulate higher and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a foward split of some sort since that’s how they do it with these things.. maybe some more LOI’s we’ll see.

Could you please consider using a new tag like “short” on posts like this. This is a wonderful find, and I would have loved to have shorted it yesterday when you made the post. But I’m only interested in your short picks. That way, I could subscribe to the RSS feed for “short” (or use Yahoo Pipes to filter your main RSS feed to just short posts). Thanks in advance, and please keep up the great work here.

Only interested in the short picks? What about the rest :(

Haha, potentially could add something like that only thing is if I remember next time or not!

My strategy (not that I would recommend it to others) is to mainly go long the market (VTI and VEU), and then to short a number of small, fraudulent microcaps. It’s a strange form of market neutral strategy. I’m always looking for new sources for short ideas, but I need an RSS feed, as most of your posts are about long strategies.

Anyway, if you remember, I’d really appreciate the short tag. For a very small effort, it dramatically increases the value of your site for me and others.

    Thanks again for your posts.

It is with great disappointment that we have noticed the misspelling on the website.
We have informed the outside contractor who developed the site of these errors and anticipate that the errors will be corrected as soon as possible. There is no correlation between the grammatical errors and the prospects of the company.

Further, Pink Sheets stocks cannot be shorted – and any suggestion in that direction is the commission of securities fraud. Thus, the suggestion posted by Great Dane on December 30th, 2008 at 2:52 PM can be construed as manipulation.

For information about PROT, please see http://www.pinksheets.com under PROT and then click on profile and filings.

Actually there are shorts available, and yes if borrowable it is shortable. I didn’t as I didn’t have a broker who did the first day but would have loved to. No one suggested a short except in the comments… I just pointed out the blatant spelling errors would be great to learn more about your company sure… but unfortunately you’re listed on the pink sheets (non reporting) and therefore you have no updates to your filings since 2006!!! http://pinksheets.com/pink/quote/quote.jsp?symbol=prot#getFilings

WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU SUGGEST PEOPLE TO REVIEW YOUR FILINGS WHEN YOU HAVE NONE??? LMAO!

At least I know business is going well enough that you had enough time to personally write back and let us know just that! Hope you have a great holiday

Glad you spell checked this time, see ya at a penny

    disclaimer: still no position …

isnt that what stock promotors do……manipulate?

  9. Great Dane Says:

Here’s the link showing that Interactive Brokers has 25,000 shares available to short. I’m sure you’ll be quickly sicking the SEC on them, given your ludicrous contention that you can’t short pink sheet stocks.

  11. Terry Maxwell Says:

Have you ever heard of AMGEN? I’m sure there were plenty of unimformed people (investment critics) who laughed at the thought of biologically generated pharmaceuticals. Most of the initial investors laughed all the way to the bank. Maybe the author should have more of a science backround before he or she makes a trashing of a cutting edge company. Maybe intelligent investors will look past a recommendation that is steeped in uneducated bias

  12. InvestorsLive Says:

what was the recommendation again Terry?

if you read the post .. which I would suggest doing before commenting as you did.. you’d realize I don’t care what kind of company it is, it was moved up in a manipulative manner, stock is down 60% from its highs and had a zillion spelling errors.. whats your point?

  13. James Says:

I have been following this blog, and the stock. It seems like PROT is a great buy actually. Though it trades thinly, I took a look at the TS&Q and notices there is a lot of buying power into the stock. some days over 20,000 shares traded, so plenty of liquidity. So to say this a pump and dump type deal is pretty funny to me, since there really isnt any heavy selling into the stock. So keep on shorting it buddy, Ill be on the other side taking your $$.

  14. InvestorsLive Says:

    Learn to read James

    “disclaimer: still no position …”

So keep on pumping it buddy…

    plenty of liquidity? please

  15. James Says:

So what happened to going down? Stock has been very stable, and look at the new board member they brought in, he runs a 1/2 billion company….

I got in at 2.25, so where did you short it?

  16. Jim Mahlmann Says:

The next time you tell readers that you did not do your due diligence much past the front page of the site, make sure you are being accurate. I went through the whole site and that was the ONLY page that had errors. You make it sound like that was the only page you viewed it was a mess. It is unfortunate that you have to rely on mistakes to make a point. And a overstated one at that.

  17. InvestorsLive Says:

Jim – there wasn’t more Due Dillegence needed…

  18. s Says:

I can’t express enough how hilarious this is. The CEO obviously has too much time on his hands, does a google search for his PROT.PK to see how many people he has swindled and/or how many people are talking about the “prospects” of this company and comes across this site that has an average of around 300 users total.

I’d be careful though. The Mafia still exists, and the stock market is a great magnet to them.

  19. InvestorsLive Says:

And back to nothing it goes, James you’re almost even on your shares!

  20. InvestorsLive Says:

Where are all the PROT lovers now?

  21. Blz Says:

I would be loving PROT if I shorted it back in December. Down in the gutter where it belongs!

  22. Stem Cells Research Says:

I thought it was going to be some boring old post, but I’m glad I visited. I will post a link to this site on my blog. I believe my visitors will find that very useful.
